Millbury Chiropractor | First Visit
Welcome to Hughes Chiropractic

When you call the office, Judy or Heather will take down some preliminary information and tell you the first visit lasts about an hour. On the day of your first appointment, one of them will greet and welcome you and instruct you on filling out those 'Oh, is all this necessary?' forms. I'll use this information when we talk; Judy or Heather will use it to explain your insurance coverage; some is to protect your information as confidential responses. You'll be brought to our treatment/exam room where I'll join you and any guest you may choose to bring with you.
Health History
I'll review with you the reasons you came in, which you listed on what we call the present complaint form. This is the longest and most productive time we'll spend on what may have caused your problem and what you have done to deal with it. I'll ask questions about your health history, about medications or nutritional supplements you may be taking. We'll talk about stretching and exercise you may be doing. If you have been in an auto accident or had an injury at work, I'll record lots of details about what happened. If you've had x-rays or other diagnostic studies, Judy or Heather will obtain faxed copies of the reports; if they're available while we talk, she'll bring them to me so I can review the findings with you.
Physical Exam
I'll then do a physical exam with you using established chiropractic/orthopedic and neurological tests and range of motion studies. After reviewing the physical exam results and the information you provided, I値l determine whether more diagnostic testing is needed. I値l explain to you what I致e found and whether chiropractic treatment can resolve or help manage your problems. I値l end the session by creating a treatment plan: it consists of how many office visits you値l need plus any home-based activities that would be helpful. If appropriate, we値l do the first treatment or adjustment. After we池e done, I値l direct you to the front desk where Heather or Judy will set up your future appointments.
